Overton County Heritage Museum

For this month's history spotlight, we're featuring the Overton County Heritage Museum! Located at 318 W. Broad St, the museum is in the heart of Livingston and is the place to go for all of the history on Overton County. The Overton County Heritage Museum was established in 2002, made possible by the dream of the Overton County Historical Society. The heritage museum features a wide array of artifacts and displays ranging from wars to social movements to interactive displays. Some of their rare artifacts include anything from instruments to clothing, weapons, pictures, and more. Our museum also has a new display over the Revolutionary War, and has a great selection of books for sale for those interested in the history of churches, families, cemeteries, and local folk tales.

Overton County Heritage Museum is a non-profit organization that is made possible by the support of its members and the community. Donations are appreciated, whether monetary or pieces of history; however, the overall goal of the OC Heritage Museum is to provide you with a historical learning experience you won't forget. So come by and visit to learn not only the story of Livingston, but how our beloved Overton County came to be. The museum is open Thursday - Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and for current updates you can visit the Overton County Heritage Museum Facebook page.
